Introduction
Greetings,
I'm Ben Mercedes II, a storyteller with a passion for crafting compelling narratives through film since 2014 that have been featured on Netflix and Amazon. I've had the privilege of collaborating extensively in New Hampshire, focusing on branded content and live events.
I hold immense gratitude for our local farmers, whose vital contributions often go unnoticed. Their dedication enriches our community with fresh produce and farm-to-table dining experiences.
Having worked on a documentary featuring NH’s Governor Sununu and closely with the Bedford Village Inn, in Bedford, NH I've witnessed their commitment to supporting local farms firsthand. It would be a rewarding full-circle moment to contribute to a project highlighting their ethos.
Below, you'll find two sample videos showcasing my versatile style.
Thank you for considering my proposal. I'm eager to collaborate and celebrate the invaluable work of our local farmers together.
Portfolio
Pre-production:
Our approach begins with close collaboration with the Cheshire Conservation team to select the farms to be featured in the film. This collaborative effort ensures alignment with the project's objectives and highlights the conservation efforts in the region.
Filming is scheduled for June/July 2024, allowing ample time for pre-production preparations. During this phase, we meticulously plan every aspect of the shoot, from location scouting to scheduling interviews and gathering necessary permits.
On production days, we will arrive fully equipped with a comprehensive kit, including lighting, cameras, and audio equipment, to capture interviews on location. Additionally, we will capture B-roll footage of the farm's interior and exterior, as well as drone shots to enrich the visual storytelling.
Our filming equipment will feature cameras capable of recording in 4K resolution. To ensure data integrity, all footage will be simultaneously recorded onto dual memory cards. Further redundancy measures include immediate backup creation on the same day and an additional backup upon return to the studio.
Each camera will be equipped with an onboard microphone, supplemented by a lapel mic for the interviewee and a boom mic for optimal audio capture.
Post-Production:
Following the completion of filming, we transition into the post-production phase, where we meticulously craft the final narrative. Once the projects are synced, we will provide the team with interview transcripts for review and selection of key segments. Alternatively, we can assist in making these selections, ensuring alignment with the project's objectives.
Subsequently, we will integrate the selected interviews with drone shots, B-roll footage, and instrumental music to create the final short film. This process involves careful editing and attention to detail to deliver a compelling visual story that resonates with the audience.
Upon completion, the team will receive a review link to provide feedback. We commit to addressing revision requests promptly, with a turnaround time of 2-4 business days. We offer two rounds of revisions per project, with additional rounds available at a rate of $150 per round. This ensures that the final deliverables meet the team's expectations and effectively communicate the conservation efforts showcased in the film.
